OnAirTV (now Telairvision) is a streaming platform that isn't your run-of-the-mill but a dynamic gateway to Africa's untold stories, infectious rhythms, and breathtaking vistas.

Brand Identity

First, we combined the familiar icon from Airband’s press play brand identity with a red dot. The red dot was derived from the popular record symbol in cinematography.

Having come up with the base iconography for the brand, we then proceeded to carve out the ‘air’ & ‘tv’ in the brand’s name from our base.

Our result? A familiar, but subtly different mark, that relies heavily on an incredibly simple message: they hold the media cycle from creation to consumption. The record icon represents the start of any cinematographic process (creation), and the play icon represents the end of the process where the audience enjoys what has been created (consumption). It really is quite simple, and somewhat beautiful in its poetry.

UX Research

We carried out extensive research into the intended product's proposition to develop a video streaming solution that acts like an aggregator of various streaming solutions, taking on the most familiar and convenient features, whilst still managing to be fresh and intuitive in its value proposition. Our report plotted a path to do this through creating an exciting UI, and a brilliantly daring fresh feature that we hoped will set a new standard for streaming solutions around the world.

UI Design & Software Development

Following the UX report we developed, we proceeded to design all the interfaces for the web app and mobile app. The development of the Android and IOS apps using React Native JS followed, alongside the web app using React JS. The backend was developed using Laravel PHP, and hosted on Amazon AWS.

The Avatars

One of the most exciting parts of this process was ideating the avatars we used in place of profile photos. We tailored our designs to authentic Nigerian tribes and expressions, taking inspiration from caricature artform and blending with 2d cartooning. The results? Simply beautiful expressions of art.

The Name Change

During the publication process to Playstore & Apple's App Store, we ran into an issue we had not foreseen: the name 'OnAirTV' was drowned in other related results when searched in the stores. Immediately, we reached a consensus to return to the drawing board and change to a name so unique that it would always pop up first when searched for in any of the stores.

We arrived at 'Telairvision.'

Marketing Materials

Our work on this project was indeed very expansive. We developed a medley of digital marketing materials that spanned still and motion ads.

"You young guys are a breath of fresh air!

Working with Tactica has been very exciting. A bunch of young people who are very committed to a great level of excellence, and honestly from my experience working with the younger Millennial and Z generations, this is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for being different Tactica.
